Welcome to Bangarang Limited ("we", "us", "our", or "Bangarang"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Bangarang platform, including our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
Bangarang Limited operates across the Asia Pacific region.
By accessing or using the Service, creating an account, submitting content, participating as a Foodie Finder, or participating in the Bangarang Rewards Programme, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service or participate in the Rewards Programme.
These Terms should be read together with any additional rules, criteria or conditions communicated to you in connection with particular Bangarang features, promotions, campaigns or rewards.
By using Bangarang, you agree to:
Bangarang may review, moderate, edit, decline, remove or decline to promote any User Content that we believe does not meet our content standards, Foodie Finder criteria or the purpose of the Service.
Bangarang may invite or allow users to participate as Foodie Finders by submitting food recommendations, hidden gems, dishes, restaurants or other discoveries to the Service.
The purpose of the Foodie Finder programme is to help Bangarang discover and showcase genuine, interesting and worthwhile food finds that may be valuable to the wider Bangarang community.
Being a Foodie Finder does not guarantee that a submission will be published, promoted or rewarded.
Bangarang may assess submissions based on factors including, but not limited to:
Bangarang reserves the right to determine, acting reasonably and in accordance with these Terms, whether a submission qualifies as a Foodie Find.
Bangarang may award Foodie Credits to eligible Foodie Finders as part of the Bangarang Rewards Programme.
Foodie Credits are promotional rewards intended to encourage users to try and genuinely rate dishes shared by other Foodie Finders and restaurants on Bangarang. Sharing your own finds does not earn Foodie Credits. Foodie Credits are not wages, salary, cash payments or a guarantee of payment for submitting content.
A rating does not automatically qualify for Foodie Credits merely because it has been submitted, published or reviewed. Ratings of your own dishes, or of dishes at a restaurant you own, do not qualify, and monthly and lifetime limits apply.
To qualify for Foodie Credits, a rating must meet the applicable criteria (including your own photo and all scores) and any requirements communicated by Bangarang at the time of submission.
Qualifying activity. Currently, the only activity that earns Foodie Credits is submitting a rating of a dish shared by another Foodie Finder or by a restaurant, with your own photo, all three scores and your written thoughts. Sharing your own finds and being featured by Bangarang do not earn Foodie Credits.
Calculation and award. Each qualifying rating earns 1 Foodie Credit (equal to NZ$1 in reward value), credited automatically once the rating is submitted. Only one rating per dish qualifies, up to 10 qualifying ratings per calendar month and 50 Foodie Credits in total per member.
Your opinion is your own. The score you give and whether your review is positive or negative do not affect eligibility. Positive reviews are never required, requested or rewarded differently. Ratings must reflect a genuine experience of the dish.
Exclusions and fraud prevention. Ratings of your own dishes, dishes at a restaurant you own or manage, duplicate ratings, ratings without a genuine visit, or ratings made using multiple accounts do not qualify, and credits obtained this way may be reversed.
Redemption. Foodie Credits can be cashed out as a NZ$25 voucher at 25 credits or a NZ$50 voucher at 50 credits. Credits have no cash value outside the programme and cannot be transferred.
Earlier rules. Foodie Credits already earned under earlier programme rules (for example, for sharing finds or being picked) remain valid and redeemable.
Missing or disputed credits. If you believe a credit is missing or was awarded incorrectly, email hello@bangarangfinds.com with the dish and the date of your rating within 30 days, and we will review it.
Bangarang may, at its reasonable discretion:
Foodie Credits have no cash value unless Bangarang expressly states otherwise.
Foodie Credits are personal to the account to which they are awarded and may not be sold, transferred or exchanged for cash except where expressly permitted by Bangarang.
Any expiry dates, redemption requirements, thresholds, limitations or additional conditions applying to Foodie Credits will be communicated to users as part of the applicable Rewards Programme or promotion.
Bangarang invests in Foodie Credits to encourage the discovery of genuine and valuable food experiences and to help build the Bangarang community before and following the launch of the Bangarang app.
As a result, Bangarang has a responsibility to ensure that Foodie Credits are awarded fairly and consistently and that rewarded content contributes to the authenticity and quality of the Bangarang platform.
Users participating in the Rewards Programme acknowledge that Bangarang may review submissions before awarding Foodie Credits and may decline to award credits where a submission does not meet the applicable criteria.
For clarity, participation in the Foodie Finder programme does not create an entitlement to receive Foodie Credits for every submission.
You retain ownership of the content you submit to Bangarang, including reviews, recommendations, photographs, videos, comments and other materials ("User Content"), subject to the licence granted to Bangarang below.
You represent and warrant that:
By submitting User Content to Bangarang, you grant Bangarang Limited a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sub-licensable licence to use, reproduce, copy, store, modify, edit, adapt, publish, display, communicate, distribute and otherwise use your User Content in connection with:
This licence applies whether or not you receive Foodie Credits for the particular User Content.
By submitting a photograph, review or recommendation to Bangarang, you acknowledge and agree that Bangarang may choose to promote the particular food, dish, restaurant or experience featured in that submission.
For example, Bangarang may feature your photograph or recommendation in a social media post, article, email, advertisement, promotional campaign, app feature or other communication designed to encourage people to discover and try that food or venue.
You understand that the purpose of Bangarang is to help people discover great food finds and that your User Content may therefore be used to help promote the find to the wider Bangarang community and the public.
You will not be entitled to additional payment, royalties or compensation for such use beyond any Foodie Credits that may be awarded under the applicable Rewards Programme, unless otherwise agreed by Bangarang in writing.
Bangarang may identify you as the contributor or Foodie Finder associated with the User Content where appropriate, but is not required to do so unless otherwise required by applicable law or agreed with you.
You acknowledge that Bangarang may reasonably crop, resize, format, edit or adapt your User Content for technical, editorial or promotional purposes, provided that Bangarang does not intentionally alter the substantive meaning of your recommendation in a misleading way.
You must not submit photographs, videos, text or other materials belonging to another person unless you have obtained the necessary permission to provide that content to Bangarang and to grant the licence described in these Terms.
If you submit content featuring another person, you are responsible for ensuring that you have any permission or consent required to submit and allow Bangarang to use that content.
You may request that particular User Content be removed from Bangarang by contacting us at hello@bangarangfinds.com.
Removal of User Content from the Service does not automatically revoke the licence granted to Bangarang in relation to uses already made of that User Content, including promotional materials or campaigns that have already been created, published or distributed.
Bangarang will consider reasonable removal requests subject to its legal obligations and the practical nature of the use concerned.
The Bangarang name, logo, branding, website design, software, and all related visual and functional elements are the exclusive property of Bangarang Limited and are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws across the Asia Pacific region and internationally.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our express written permission.
Your ownership of User Content is addressed in Section 4 of these Terms.
Bangarang does not acquire ownership of your User Content merely because you submit it to the Service. Instead, you grant Bangarang the licence described in Section 4.
If you believe that your intellectual property rights have been infringed by content on Bangarang, please contact us at hello@bangarangfinds.com with details of the alleged infringement.
We will review legitimate complaints and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable law.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including but not limited to:
Bangarang Limited does not endorse, verify or guarantee the accuracy of any user-generated content, including food reviews, restaurant information, ratings or photographs. Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms, or the breach, termination or invalidity thereof, shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties.
If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within thirty (30) days, it shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand. The language of all proceedings shall be English.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986 or any other applicable New Zealand consumer protection legislation that cannot be excluded by agreement.
Where mandatory consumer protection laws in your local Asia Pacific jurisdiction provide you with additional rights, those rights shall not be affected by this clause.
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at hello@bangarangfinds.com.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. We will handle your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, though some content you have posted, such as reviews or recommendations, may remain on the platform in an anonymised or otherwise permitted form.

Upon termination, all rights and licences granted to you under these Terms will immediately cease.

We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
